Vstorage backup mode full mapped

i have configured the Netbackup 7.0 for the vpshere 4.0 Update 2 backup via vstorage .

When backup 20 VM with full mapped mode , i found that some VM machines are only backup Full VM only without any File level .

By looking at the number of file backup is only 1 to 3 only .

PLease advise.

Mapped Full VM backups are only available for Windows VMs. Since you didn't specify your VM type, I can't be certain if that is your issue.

Do the windows 2008 R2 virtual machines contain the 100MB System Recovery partition located at the beginning of the virtual disk? If so, it is stated in the Symantec 7.0 and 7.0.1 readme that file level backups are not supported if the OS is not installed on the first partition.

One of the paragraph in the NBU 7.0 Release Notes says that file-level backups of VMware Windows guests may fail if they are not on first virtual Hard-disk of the ESX server.

unlikely as al the VM machines are deploy from same template.

All windows 2008 SP2 VM machines are deployed from the same template.
