Hi

I need some help regarding epxiring tapes in Netbackup.Basically all the tapes have physcial expiry set to none but there are two tapes which have a physical expiry of last year, since then they are no longer being used.

i want to erase the physical expiry of those tapes , wipe them and assign them to a separate pool

can you please tell me how to reset the physical expiry to never, and then clear data off hte tapes.

ill manage the reassignment to the other pool myslef

thanks alot

Physical expiration is always added manually by a Backup Admin.
Sometimes by mistake because the person does not understand the difference between data and physical expiration. (speaking from experience when I was new to NBU...)

You can select the tape(s) in the Media GUI, right-click, Change. Remove the Expiration date. This will reset the date to None.
