What Symantec product to be used for SAP database and applications backups ?

HI everyone,

We have some SAP workloads; both database and applications that are running on VMware environment. We want to take regular application consistatnt backups of the databases into tapes. The database is Sybase ASE. I wonder what Symantec product would be ideal for the task? Is it Symantec Netbackup or Symantec Backup Exec?

Please advice.

The NetBackup Sybase agent only supports Sybase ASE, so your in luck! Refer to the NetBackup 7.5 for Sybase Administrator’s Guide for more info and usage. (DOC5178)
