Hi to all.
I must deploy NetBackup DLO for a customer. At present, this customer doesn't have NetBackup; so they need only DLO module to be deployed.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough information about deploying just this module. As I understand, on this architecture, we need only a server (Admin Server) to configure and administer backup and recovery tasks. Can you help me to design an appropiate architecture to support this platform.
Some information that I think is important:
Target (Client computers to be backed up): Almost 300 (Running Windows 7 32 & 64 bits)
Data: Customer wants to backup documents from a single/standard folder
Distribution: All client computer are in the same building
Storage: Customer has storage available in a NAS repository. There are almost 2 TB available. (Since they want to backup just Office documents, we estimate that this free space is right to fit all data).
Some questions that I have:
-What is the recommended sizing for the Admin Server?
-There are some key questions that I need to make to customer in order to design properly this solution?
Regards,
Goltrek

Few things your msut know before deploying DLO:
1.) Environment should have Active Directory/Domain Controller.
2.) The DLO Administration Console can be managed by any user who has full
admin rights on the DLO Administration Server where DLO is installed.
3.) ll computers running the DLO Administration Console or the Desktop
Agent should be set to a common time.
4.) DLO is designed to work in firewall environments. In order for DLO to
function properly in a firewall environment, network file shares must be
visible after establishing a remote connection such as VPN. If file sharing
is not allowed, DLO will not be able to transfer files to or from the network
user data folder. Desktop computer files will still be protected to the
desktop user data folder, and will be transferred when the network user
data folder is accessible.
