Hello,

Could someone please tell me the purpose of "NetBackup Temp" hidden folder in windows 2008 R2 C drive. The folder is empty.

The customer suspects that NetBackup is creating temporary files in it.

Thank you.

Netbackup version on Master & Media servers is 7.7.1,the client is on 7.5.0.6

Where exactly is this hidden folder?

On the server or client?
If client - how many?

Directly under the root of C-drive or under Veritas or NetBackup folder?

I have this folder on my laptop (NBU Client installed):

C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\Temp

Is this what you are referring to?

"C:\NetBackup Temp"

Seems to be used during backup of the particular server/workstation.  I've never noticed any files in it, but the timestamp changes.

Apologies. I only noticed the screenshot now. I guess the only way to know is to monitor the contents of the folder during backup. There is no public documentation for this folder that explains its purpose.

It might be related to PFI (persistent frozen image) backups on Windows.
