What is the use of database agent in Netbackup?

is any licenses or extra sw needed to configure database agent?

Hello,

The purpose of the database agents in Netbackup are to interface with one of many databases that can be backed up. Usually the agent works with the database to get a snapshot of data and hands that data to NetBackup to be written to tape or disk.

No extra the software is needed - all agents and options are included in NBU server and client binaries.
