a newbie for a non newbie netbackup user

one of my customer asked me for the reason of this directory NetbackupCatalog/logsthat weights some Gigabytes

i do understand the use of normal Netbackup/logs/ but not this one for the catalog

so my questions are :

- How to setup or lower this logs ?
- Can we delete this directory ?

Thanks again for all

I think you mean the logs in the db/logs (server.log server.log.old etc etc).  Those file are the offline redo files of the Netbackup EMM database. There is not much you can do about it without interfering with Netbackup operation. The logs files will be truncated whenever you run a full catalog backup.

thanks for the info
it seems those files are growing day by day and file system may get full

is there an existing technote about that or may i have to log a call to symantec hotline ?

Nicolai is referring to, is there anything in them that you need to be aware of? There may be an underlying issue that you are missing?

Have just checked our server.log entries in /usr/openv/db/log & the whole directory is only 1.6Mb & the only entries in this log file appear to be

I. 09/06 06:37:34. Finished checkpoint of "NBDB" (NBDB.db) at Sun Sep 06 2009 06:37
I. 09/06 06:57:35. Starting checkpoint of "NBDB" (NBDB.db) at Sun Sep 06 2009 06:57

so 6 weeks worth of entries taking up not much space (this file itself is only 0.5Mb), the largest is server.log.old which goes from June 3rd to Sept 6th 2009 at 1.0Mb.
