Will this work? Upgrade Question

I just discovered our Overland tape library is EOL and will not work with NBU 6.5.x. We are currently running 6.0MP4 and want to upgrade to 6.5.x. My question is this: Can I run a master server on 6.5.x and a media server on 6.0 (with tape library not compatible with 6.5 connected to 6.0 media server), and have all the benefits of 6.5.x be available? I hope this make sense. Currently we have one server as master/media server so not too familiar with splitting them up and what can/can't be done. Thanks in advance.

Just be sure your library controler is also the media server and Im sure will work because you are still on 6.0, the comunication between master and media is just metadata in the end the master will not care about what kind of library is the media server using.
