Hello,
If a Windows server is crashed (dont assume if it was running any application or database) and if i need to restore it to a working state, what are the componenets i need to restore ? I have backup "ALL LOCAL DRIVES".
Should i just restore C: and System State ?
Thanks!

Hi Watson,
I am aware about this procedure, but my question is do i really need to restore C:\ followed by System State ?
Provided OS is reinstalled and to bring up server to previous working state restoring only System State will be enough ?

The technote contains some new information under a few NOTES.
I think it's up to initial system configuration or installation, not everyone knows whether their very-first Windows setup is following all the default settings or not , so if it previous system were having some system files in other drives other than C:, you might still need to restore those "system" drives first before proceeding on the System_State restore.
Otherwise, I guess System_State would be enough.
