Windows Virtual Master Robot Control Host

Master Server - Virtual Windows 2008 R2

(2) Media Servers - Physcial Windows 2012 R2

Netbackup Version 7.7.1

Has there been any change with supporting FC tape librarys(HP MSL 4048 LTO6) connected to virtual master or media servers? If I can't connect the tape directly to the virtual master server, can the virtual master server be the Robot control host in case of issues with one of the media server that would be configure as the host and would need to be reconfigure to the other?

Please read through Table 3 in the doc that I have referenced above.

You will see that neither VMware nor Hyper-V appears in the list of virual environments that support Media Manager storage devices.

Robot and tape drive connection to VM master or media server is actually a VMware limitation, not NBU.

VM master cannot be the robot control host.
