Did you mean:

admin and bpbkar logs are world-writeable!

Security wants these files to not have world-writeable permissions:

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/admin/log.*

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpbkar/log.*

You can manually remove the permissions on the log files, but the next day, the new file has world-writeable permissions again... Support was not much help, "That's the way it is."

Nature of the beast my friend.

You could always just disable logging.

If that really is "the way it is" & if Nathans option isn't an option plus manually amending the permissions on the logs does not affect the way that NetBackup utilises those logs, then what's to stop you from implementing a cron to amend these permissions for you?

Also beggars the question ... "Why?"
