boot server and restoration

I have 4 servers. one is master and other three are client. suppose server names are A , B , C , D. and A is master server and other 3 are client.

A and D having database and A ,C ,D contains the product. I configured BMR on master. I want to know what actually SRT means and how it functions. 

If sever B crashed then which wiil be the boot server ?  Can i configure master as boot sever.? while restoring how master knows the crashed server is b?

Product is in cluster and netbackup application is stand alone

What is "product"?

Please expain in more detail what is running where and what type of OS and cluster you're using.

And NetBackp version.

SRT is basically the drivers and installation media required to boot a server so it can be restored from its backup.

Master can be boot servers depending on OS compatibility.

A boot server is only required to be available if you're going to boot from Network. So in your case if server B was the boot server, you can use it to create a bootable CD and then use that to boot serer B or its replacement. The master will know who to restore when you tell it who to restore while doing the "prepare to restore" step.

Just to add,

in case of cluster setup, BMR protects individul nodes seperately. You can recover failed node completely on same or diff hw. Logically once node is back, it may get added to the cluster automatically. If not, BMR does not add/configure it back to the cluster. User need to do any cluster specific configuration or cli execution to enable that node.

I think above posts gives good info about bmr boot server and srt requirement. You may want to go through that.
