bpplvalid command

bpplcatdrinfo  bpplclients    bppldelete     bpplinclude    bpplinfo       bppllist       bpplsched      bpplschedrep   bpplschedwin   bpplvalid
 
can any1 plz explain what is purpose of command bpplvalid. this command not explained  in command guide. but binaries present on master server.

Not all commands are documented because they are not designed to be used by end users. Some binaries are called by Netbackup as part of normal operation. bpplvalid may very well be one of them.

If you want to do some "spying" you can alwas do a "strings bpplvalid" to see what text or error messages enclosed in the binary.

from the below T/N it looks like it used to bring up the the some of the properites of the netbackup in GUI( may be related to policies considering the nameing convension of  the command)

yes only used internally by NBU

This is one of the things that makes me crazy about NetBackup, and it demonstrates that NBU is a Linux application minimally ported to Windows.  If it were written by someone who knew anything about developing for windows, the bpvalid function would be compiled in a DLL, and not an exe, making it transparent to the end user.
