bprd: cannot contact database daemon

On a fresh install of Windows 5.1 Server, running XP, I am getting the following error every time I try and start up the Admin Console. When I manually start the Netbackup Request Manager Service, it stops after about 5 seconds.

Things I've tried:
1) server reboot
2) firewall disabled
3) ensured license key is correct
4) plenty of disk space
5) permissions appear set up correctly
6) uninstalled/reinstalled software

same machine is master/media/client?
XP is not a valid server platform
see the compatibility matrix
http://ftp.support.veritas.com/pub/support/products/NetBackup_Enterprise_Server/263839.pdf

but if not then
Are there multiple network interface cards?
check fwd/rev name resolution and short/FQDN.Message was edited by:
