bpstart_notify fails when there is any output?

I am trying to configure NetBackup client on an RHEL 7.2 machine. I made a bpstart_notify script that calls another script. The other script makes a database snapshot and outputs its progress as it goes along. But, it seems that when any output comes from the script, I get an error in NetBackup, but if I send all output to a log file, it passes. Why would this be?

Is this because of timeout. The default is 300 seconds..how long does it take to complete snapshot and process through the script ?

bpstart_notify must run silently, this is true for both Windows and Linux/Unix.  It must nt generate any output on stdout or stderr.  If any output is generated the job will fail.
