Hello everyone
Today my doubt is how can i use the proces bpstart and bpend, I've been trying to backup an application and I use the script bpstart and bpend, but my problem is the script doesn't stop the services when the backup policy run.

When I excute manualy the script bpstart can I see the application stops. Someone have an idea about this issue? What I need to do?

First what is the name of your bpstart script.

If you have it on the client with just bpstart_notify  then it will run for every job that runs on that client.

So if you have the server in a policy for the app
And
You have the server in a policy for normal backups
Then
The bpstart AND the bpend scripts will run for each job in each policy.

So the app policy runs the start
the normal backup runs the start
a normal backup job finishes and does the bpend (bringing the app backup up)
but the app backup is not done -

if it is named bpstart_notify.app_policy  and bpend_notify.app_policy
The it will only run when the job in that policy runs.

So what is the name of your bpstart and bpend script?
Do you have that client in more than one policy?

The script has the correct permisions, but thanks.

Answered your questions:
The name of my bpstart is  bpstart_notify.speapl118_app.sh and bpend_notify.speapl118_app.sh in /usr/openv/netbackup/bin

I have only one policy for that client.

Regards.

You have all right, I've made a mistake with the name of my script. I don't need to use .sh at the end of name.

obrigado amigo!

Good!
I just wanted to tell you to remove the .sh....

NetBackup interprets '.' in the filename as:
bpstart_notify.policy_name.schedule_name
