Hi All,

Can IBM ultriun LTO-5 HCART2 tape drive reads data from HP ultrium LTO-4 HCART tape drive for restore purpose?

LTO5 tape drive can read LTO4 media but in NBU config the densities must be the same.
Change LTO5 drive to hcart density in order to read LTO4 media that is hcart density.

Further to Mariannes answer, all LTO drives can read and write one generation back, and read only 2 generations back.

EG.  LTO 7 drive can read and write LTO 6 tapes (at LTO 6 speeds) and read only LTO 5 tapes.  It is incompatible with LTO1 - 4 tapes.
