Just for fun, run a robot inventory in NetBackup to make sure Netbackup sees the catalog tape is inside the tape library and places it inside a catalog volume pool?

And try again.

If not, try writing the the netbackup catalog to a different tape and see what happens.

hi ,

which is the netbackup version you are using ,,, it's clearly saying that Down drive , i think the drive path is down for the storage unit (server) which you are trying to backup ......

as you are on 5.1 you just be doing a cold catalog backup.

on the console on the left choose Catalog
right click and choose configure
on the tab with the tapes
look at what tapes you have list there ( should be 2)

now go verify that BOTH of those tapes are IN the library.

If not - change the tapes in the catalog config to use two CATALOG tapes that ARE in the library.
