Hi
Has anyone seen this before? My Catalog backup hung today and encountered problems loading the tape. I have also seen this message when trying to test a partial catalog recovery before. Normally the Catalog backup is fine on the same drives (2 attached directly to the Master down 2 paths each)

Previously when this happened on the Partial Catalog recovery I had the drives and library checked out by IBM and they checked out OK on the system logs.
Any advice appreciated,
Thanks

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
After several weeks of having intermittent problems and trying various things including the advice posted here, I had all the fibre cables on every drive and every connection re-seated, then started from scratch and re-scanned into the OS and finally reran device configuration in Netbackup.
All is working OK now and I suspect the cabling was probably the underlying issue.
Many Thanks to All.

It may be an allocation error - you could try re-setting the Master device allocations (if it does not do any other backups)
nbrbutil -resetMediaServer woslmtbu01
Assuming this is a windows server make sure the Removable Storage Service is stopped and disabled too

Have you tried to use robtest to test tape mount into a drive using this specific media-id?
Have you tried to use another tape for catalog backup?
Are normal backups to different media working fine?
Robtest commands that can be used to test the SCSI functionality of a robot

Ive seen something like this before...the tape is selected but wouldnt mount and NB refused to use another one. Take it out the loop...remove from robot for example. I think in my case the tape was duff. It doesnt look exactly like your issue, but similar.
