catalog component in NBU 5.x and 6.x and 7.x

I have found the catalog component for 6.5 and 7.x(same),

But no info about Nbu catalog component of 5.x.

What does it contains.I have heard that database is scattered in NBU 5.x.

But which database were present on which server?(master ,media)

I can post links to TN's and 5.x manuals, but what is the the point?

Why are you concerned about NBU versions that are longer supported and no longer used?

Before NBU 6, each media server had its own device and media database. Everything is now consolidated in the EMM database on the master server. How is this information of any use to anyone in 2012 using NBU 7.x?

Best to spend your time and energy to get to know NBU 7.x.
