client restore EXIT STATUS 5: the restore failed to recover the requested files

Hi,

I was able to backup my exchange server 2010 (stand alone) on windows 2008 R2 with GRT enabled.

I tried to create mailbox and delete some mail for Testing purposes.

 

Details:

 

Master Media Server: Windows 2008 R2

Exchange Server: Windows 2008 R2 Exchange 2010 (standalone)

 

i was able to dig down the information store up to the mail of the particular  user without any error. but during restore using the  (GRT) failed.  with the following error.

We need more info, please...

Are you trying to restore to same or different mailbox?

Restoring to same or different location?

Have you reviewed requirements for mail item restore in NetBackup for Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator's Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5172  ?

Please create tar log folder on Exchange server and retry the restore.
Please post the tar log as File attachment.

Hi Marianne,

I am trying to restore on the same exchange server.

I just deleted the email and trying to restore on the original location.

 

I created the tar folder on the exchange server however after runnign the restore job the folder is empty, i think the problem doesnt reach to the tar folder yet.

 

this is a log that i got on BAR Gui (exchange server)

Also see windows event viewer. This look like a Exchange side error.
