hi,

·      Collect the tapes info that are required for restore, and ship to the destination master server location and insert into the tape library where the destination master has the access.

after that you have 2 methods to make the catalogs avaliable in destinatian location.

1) copying the Images from Source master server to Destination master using SCP or FTP

          -   Login source master server

           - cd usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/<Client name>

- find the images in the Directory and bind them with Tar , and move to destination location.

once you move the catalogs destination

-Login to destination master server:-

untar an place them in cd usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/<client name>

2nd method:- using the import method at destination master

once you create the catalogs in destination master, use below entry in bp.conf and start restore..

FORCE_RESTORE_MEDIA_SERVER = <old media server>  <New Media server you what to use for restore>

hope this helps.

Any reason for not doing a direct restore ?

What about this tech note:

The Backup Archive and Restore (BAR) GUI on the alternate client is unable to browse images for a redirected restore

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH87218

Step 3 is important. On the client you are restoring to edit the server list so Netbackup master and media servers from the source Netbackup domain can connect to that client. Then do a direct restore.
