Hi All,

Master server : NetBackup-Solaris7 5.1MP5

Client : NetBackup-AIX5 5.1MP5

Issue: Not able to backup the dbf files using Standard policy type as well as enabling Follow NFS.

bpbkar error log :

23:35:23.966 [12357828] <16> bpbkar: ERR - bpbkar killed by SIGPIPE
23:35:23.967 [12357828] <16> bpbkar: ERR - bpbkar FATAL exit status = 40: network connection broken
23:35:23.967 [12357828] <4> bpbkar: INF - EXIT STATUS 40: network connection broken
23:35:23.967 [12357828] <4> bpbkar: INF - setenv FINISHED=0
23:35:23.967 [12357828] <4> bpbkar: INF - START bpend_notify

I know Netbackup has stopped supporting legacy softwares. But we are migrating all the clients one by one. But we need solution to this problem.

Please let me know what other error logs required.

dbf files is usually a Oracle database, is this the case ?

if yes is the database closed or set in backup mode when the file backup is running ?

Status 40 can also be caused by a timeout, for example if the scan of the file system takes more the CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT which defaults to 300 seconds

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue
