hi Team,
is it mandatory to install BLAT on master server to send mail alerts ?
or is there any other possibility of sending mail alerts from master server without installing BLAT ?
my purpose is to get the DR notification which is in catalog backup policy.

You need some sort of third-party mail client.
Blat is easy to install and configuration is well-documented.
If you want to use another mailing tool, you are sort-of on your own....
The only requirement from NBU point of view is that email needs to be working at OS level and then edit nbmail.cmd with appropriate command.

OpsCenter has a built-in email Client.
NetBackup does not.

BLAT is a open source utility and the most recent version of BLAT can be downloaded from this site: http://www.blat.net/
Note: Blat is a third party product. It is not written, endorsed or supported by Symantec. Any problems with blat should be reported to the makers of blat directly. Symantec will be unable to assist with issues that are encountered when installing or using blat.
the above point is written in symantec link that it is not supported. (https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH24110.html)
on ops center , its not required to install any BLAT. email alert works after entering SMTP info in configuration details , and opening port 25. Is it not possible to do the same on master server ?
