Hi everyone,

starting the running netbackup to backup oracle looks ok, but after few mins, there is a error prompt. "the backup failed to back up the requested files" does anyone know how to solve it?

Corfirm forward and reverse name lookup in both directions as well as port connectivity on port 1556 in both directions.

Looks to me like a timeout issue, as there is more 15 minutes between the start and stop of the file list creation, maybe increasing the CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT to 1800 would help

Device issue and status 96 are not related to Oracle client and master server comms issue. Please troubleshoot each issue separately and reply to each relevant post with details of what you have tried related to particular issue. The bpclntcmd details in your other post belongs here. In addition to bpclntcmd -hn, also test reverse name lookup in both directions with -ip option. Please show us output of the commands, including bpclntcmd -pn on the client. If name lookup is fine in all directions, test port connectivity as follows: Create bpcd log folder on the client under netbackup/logs, then run this command on the master server: bptestbpcd -client (name) -verbose -debug
