Hi
we are getting error code 13 while backing up a client.
setup info
Master server : OS Sun Solaris 10 , NBU 6.5.6
media server : OS Sun Solaris 10 , NBU 6.5.6
Client : OS Sun Solaris 10 , NBU 6.5.3.1
backups are with error code 13 and backup selection list is ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES. we enabled multistreaming, then on checking we found that backup is failing for file system / and completing successfully for all other file systems.
and in bpbkar logs we are getting following :

Bill,
according to the details posted the sross mount points is NOT selected:
19:50:59.914 [10486] <4> bpbkar: INF - Processing /
19:50:59.955 [10486] <8> bpbkar: WRN - /siebel78 is in a different file system from /. Skipping.
19:59:10.978 [10486] <8> bpbkar: WRN - /var/run is in a different file system from /. Skipping.
But a thumbs up for reminding us to carefully check the policy attributes :)

Bob Stump is right in that we need to know what files those are that he listed above. the break in logging to 16 occured post the elevated issues of 8. There could be a number of issues including what files its running into that won't open or are too numerous it times out.
02-24-2011 05:30 AM
but those files still exist there .
02-24-2011 08:14 AM
how many files are there that start with dfp or tfp?
a few
a few hundred
a few thousand???
02-27-2011 04:15 AM
those are in thousands
02-28-2011 07:33 AM
Would you ever have to restore any of them? Can they be excluded from the backup image?
