hi all,

when ı want to backup exchange 2016 ,ı cant browse database under information store from exchange policy.

netbackup verison 8.0

exchange version is 2016 version 15.1

server version is 2016 windows standart

ım usinng exchange administrator account for netbackup services on two exchange servers.

MS Exchange 2016 version 15.1 is not how NetBackup refers to MS Exchange versions - excatly what is your CU version ?  Is it supported by NetBackup v8.0 with Windows 2016 ?  Note how some of the early versions of MS Exchange 2016, e.g. CU1, is not actually supported for use with NetBackup v8.0 on Windows Server 2016.  See here:

For NetBackup 8.0 with current releases of Exchange 2016, you need an EEB. Contact Veritas support.

Microsoft made a schema change in Exchange 2016 CU5 that required an adaptation in NetBackup. This was during the end game for releasing NetBackup 8.1. We got the main change into 8.1. (One may encounter minor issues in 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2. All known fixes are in 8.2.)

The NBU 8.x DB SCL (dated Sept 10 2019) contains a footnote that says:

1. Please refer to Technote <> for workaround.

This TN no longer exists. 
Is there perhaps a replacement for this TN? 

I could not find the TechNote on an internal search, either. Here's what you need to know:

Exchange 2016 CU5 schema changes broke how NetBackup and Backup Exec extract message properties from the database. This affected NetBackup 8.0, which was the current release at the time.

NetBackup 8.0 - Apply EEB 3923206. If you have locale problems with non-English text, apply EEB 3945631.

NetBackup 8.1 - EEB 3923206 is included. For the locale problem, apply EEB 3925877.

NetBackup 8.1.1 has the main fix. There is no 8.1.1 EEB for the locale issue.

NetBackup 8.1.2 and 8.2 - Both fixes are included.

Explanation of the locale issue.
Some restored messages in various non-Western languages were rendered in Outlook in the wrong character set. The correct text was there, but you couldn't read it. The problem was not universal and it was difficult to reproduce.
