Not sure what your main issue is here - the socket error or the status 71?
Please tell us more about the client in this policy:
OS version on the client?
NBU version and patch level on the client?
What is in 'Backup Selection' for this client?
Do you have log folders in this environment?
We need the following logs to troubleshoot the socket error:
On media server: bptm and bpbrm
On client: bpcd and bpbkar
If log folders do not exist, you need to create them and collect after next failure.
Please copy logs to .txt files (e.g. bptm.txt) and upload as File attachments.
PS:
Seems this client does not have a Z-drive.
We see this before the socket error.
What happens if you change Backup Selection to a drive letter that actually exists?
Is backup successful?

As Marianne says please tell us more...
It could be an ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES backup on a cluster node picking up the Z drive which is not mounted on that node .. it could be a policy specifying Z which does not exist .. lots of possibilities so pelase tell us as much as posisble

OS version on the client? Windows 2003
NBU version and patch level on the client? 7.1
What is in 'Backup Selection' for this client? --
Do you have log folders in this environment? no
Please suggest the soluation. Error :- (status: 71: none of the files in the file list exist)

PLEASE tell us what is in 'Backup Selection' tab in the policy for this client?
We can see from the output that NBU is trying to backup a Z-drive on the client.
Have you checked the client to see what drive letters exist?
You will need to fix the Backup Selection in the policy.
Please create log folders under ...netbackup\logs on the media server and client (as per my previous post) before you attempt another backup.

One more thing:
Maybe this is a CIFS share that is mapped on the client as Z-drive?
If this is the case, you need to select Backup Network Drives in Policy attributes specify the UNC path (e.g. \\nas-server\folder ) in Backup Selection. Not the drive letter.
Change the NetBackup Client Service and NetBackup Legacy Client Service to a Domain account with sufficient read/write permissions on the share.
