Please share all relevant info: NBU version on master and media server, OS on master and media server; is this a new media server? Has this worked before?

Not sure if this old TN is relevant to your situation:

Have you verified comms between master and media server on port 1556?

Please run the following on the master:

nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose

nbemmcmd -getemmserver

Marianne thanks for your response. The Master and Media server are both Windows 2003 running Netbackup 6.5.4. The media server isn't new and comms on port 1556 is working fine.

The Media server is now working ok (had to stop the services, reboot the server then restart Netbackup). There was a TCP Stack change on the media server that seemed to coincide with the issue. Once this was backed out and the server and services restarted everything seemed to work.

Can you elaborate on that?

I am curious what it is. Does it mean a TCP setting change in a media server, would require a reboot of server (obviously a restart of Netbackup) to take effect, otherwise it would cause the devices to be inactive.. and there produced a "active for disk only" media server?

Thanks!
