how do you tell NBU to skip a file/folder during backup?

NBU 7.7.3

i've been seeing this long list of skips

TRV - [/siebel/8.1.1.14.0/ses/siebsrvr/temp/SEBL_19_20922] is a socket special file. Skipping

i know NBU skips those, like /proc folder, due to its nature but is there anyway you can tell or flag NBU to skip those files instead of processing them and spewing out that error message?

That is not an error message. TRV - Trivial.
Info only.

This will not cause your backup to fail or even exit with status 1.

You may want to add these files to exclude_list, but I cannot see why...

i don't like seeing info messages. :)

thx.

It has been like that for as long as I have known NetBackup (close to 19 years).

Consider to exclude

/siebel/8.1.1.14.0/ses/siebsrvr/temp/

from the file system backup to get grid of the TRV messages.

Exclude_list in Netbackup:  http://www.veritas.com/docs/000026772

I don't think developers will ever "mask out" this type of information message.

Think about it, if the backup job is not showing this and later customer discover these files are not backup, customer will question NBU team why they skip these files without giving any reason. That would be more explanations to them.
