i've done many BMR backups of Windows 2008 R2 servers now i need to do the same for Solaris servers.

can i just make copy of an existing Windows server BMR backup policy and just change the client list to that of a Solaris server?

The policy is easy enough - just create a new Standard policy with BMR selected in Attributes, Solaris clients in Clients tab and ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES in Backup Selection.

Boot server and boot media is totally different.
