how to suspend duplication by SLP

Sisso

Hello,

We are running Netbackup 7.5.0.6 on Windows server 2008 R2 sp1.

All the backups is going to SLP that including one backup operation and 2 duplication operations.

Is there any way to suspend one of the duplication operation to start the duplication jobs.

Thank you

out of 2 duplication operation, would you like to stop one duplication operatoin only?

I am afride is not possible if that is the case of 1 operation...

you can only have the option to suspend all the images for SLP or for specifc images in the SLP, but not possible for speciifc operation..

you can use nbstlutil inactive to suspend the operation..

if you would like to cancel permently you can use the cancle option too..

inactive

Deactivates future lifecycle operations on selected image copies, but retains the image information so that processing can resume.

cancel

Cancels a list of image copies as selected by the -lifecycle option or the -destination option. Cancelling a storage lifecycle policy cancels all the pending copies for it. Cancelling a specific destination cancels all the pending copies that are bound for the named destination regardless of lifecycle policy. Any new work that shows up afterwards is processed normally.

You can also mark a specific destination (STU or STU-group) inactive.

nbstlutil active | inactive [-wait | -force] [[-lifecycle name [-destination name] | -backupid value]

You can use an external scheduler (e. g. Windows Task scheduler) to 'inactive' and 'active' SLPs. See  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH62438

Best to upgrade to NBU 7.6 where SLP scheduling is built into NBU.
