list of recyclable tapes for future date

HI,

We are running netbackup version 7 enterprise on a centos server.

As a newbie, I know I can run vmquery to find out what tapes in scratch pool are currently available for recycling but am not sure how to get a list of tapes for a future date such as one week from now. Does netbackup provide a command to get this sort of information?

Regards,

jk04

Have you tried bpmedialist?

Displays how many volumes are at each retention level. If you want to see each media information use verbose mode.

You can also try Tape Summary report with Verbose option.

It gives an excellent report in categories - tapes due to expire in next day or two, next week, within 2 weeks, etc...

From cmd - something like:
bpmedialist -summary -v

*** EDIT ***
*** may need to add something like -U or -L   --- test with and without these options ***

but in addition to the above, and again utilising bpmedialist, you could knock together a simple script to detail the tapes that are due to expire next sorted in expiry order.

We utilised something similar which I posted not so long back:
