master server in active -active cluster

Hi Folks,

we are planning to build new master server for 2 site in same domin with active active cluster.

seperate media server for each master server .If one master server went down ,it is possible to use other master to run the backup.

the 2 master Meta data will be merge in singlemaster  server ?

its is not possible, Master server can not run on active -active configurations..

for recovery purpose you can look for the options like AIR, to replicate the data from one master server to another mater server to secure your data.and it have quick recovery.

but backup can not be triggred from another mater server.you need to recover the mater server again and start backups.

if your looking to merge 2 master server database permently , contact symatec consulting support.

As RAM said, not possible. What you can do is build an HA in each site, and AIR between sites. So then you get HA and a level of DR too.
