migrating from BackupExec V12.0 to NetBackup

We recently inherited a system that uses BackupExec version 12.0 in a Windows Server 2003 environment.  We are planning to migrate that system to Windows Server 2008 and the backup solution to NetBackup.  The question is - Will I need to re-create all the backup jobs in NetBackup or is there an option to import or migrate the old jobs to NetBackup?

Thanks,

Mike

No such functionalities and tools in NetBackup. You need to recreate backup policies by hand.

Yasuhisa is right - backup policies are totally different in NBU. You will have to recreate them.

The only type of migration that can be done is to import BE tapes.

See Backup Exec Tape Reader (CL):    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125836

BE 12.0 is the last version that can be imported into NBU and NBU 7.6 is the last version to support BE Tape Reader.
