multiple bpdbm process

Current configuration

Windows 2003 R2 Std x86 SP2

Netbackup 7.0 Master server

Disk storage ( Local Scsi Disk)

Tape storage unit (HP MSL)

 

I do have multiple bpdbm process (More than 5) running after master server last reboot when i have upgraded my Netbackup 6.5.5 to netbackup 7.0 .

When i do a bpdown -v -f on the master server those will be hanged there , no choice i have to reboot the server.

Anyone can advise me how to troubleshooting on this ?

Same bpbrm processes with same PID's? It is quite normal to have multiple bpdbm processes. Each job that needs to query or update the NBU databases will initiate a new bpdbm process. It is certainly unusual for bpdbm processes to remain active when you do 'bpdown'.

If bpdbm processes are in a hang state, you will be able to trace it in the bpdbm log. (Create the folder if it does not exist and restart NBU.) The PID will show up in the log in square brackets [].

If I'm not mistaken, there is a hot fix out for bpdbm.... Will see if I can find details.

NB_7.0_ET1950017_1_355095.zip is a NetBackup 7.0 Hotfix for Master Servers.
