nbemmcmd command is a combination of bpmedialist and vmquery.

When media is offsite (standalone), the best you can get is media server name.

You need to know your environment and need to know which media server is attached to which robot.

Check properties at cmd level for one of the tapes with this command:

nbemmcmd -listmedia -mediaid <media-id>

Look for 'Last Write Host field'.

You should know which robot this media server is attached to that have drives that match the media density.

Ask on site team to insert tapes in the robot that you have identified above.

Another command that will help is 'bpmedialist -m <media-id>.
It will show media server name.

this command gives me "server host" name but this server host is not the robot control host.

At which library ,to insert the media?

Any library that that server has access to

If you look under devices - robots that "server host" will have robots shown against it even though it is not the control host.

You can put the tape in any of those as long as that library has drives that are the same denisty as the tapes (HCART / HCART2 etc.)

Hope this helps

You have to put the tapes to the library that its drives are presented to the media server mediaunix23 and their density is hcart2

If you need more help, post the output of the command tpconfig -l from the server mediaunix23

I believe I have answered your question in the post that you marked as solution and subsequently removed.

Please do not drag this thread out any longer.

There is nothing more to this - check which robot the media server is connected to and put tape in that particular robot.
