nbu client software update from client itself

Is it possible to udpate the nbu client software from client itself ??

I dont want to run install_client_files (or) update_client from netbackup server

Ofcourse Yes...

you can directly copy Netbackup client install files to Client and run the installation..

you can get the client base client software from fileconnect.symatec.com and patch directly form symantec links if you Dont have them already..

you can also run live update

We just deployed a bunch of new clients by copying folder from Master to each client

  /usr/openv/netbackup/client/Solaris/Solaris10

and then running update on each client

  ssh CLIENT

  cd  /usr/openv/netbackup/client/Solaris/Solaris10

  ./cp_to_client  MASTER  CLIENT

using the correct hostnames of course.  Works very well.

Can you give more details of Live update? I want client to periodically check for version update in server and trigger update by itself without any manual intervention. I am using all Linux and Unix clients. Master server running on Solaris 10

LiveUpdate cannot be triggered from Client - only from master.
