I have moved your post to the NetBackup forum for better visibility.
(Product related queries are best suited in the relevant forum instead of General Veritas.)

Hi Brussell111,

I am guessing you have already set up the basic port connectivity required for VMware backups?  If not, then this is what's needed:

  • The Master server requires connectivity to the VMware vCenter server on TCP port 443 (bidirectional).
  • When using nbd for backup or restore the media server(s) need connectivity to each ESX/ESXi host on TCP port 902 (bidirectional).

An additional requirement for Instant Recovery for Vmware is that you will also need to open TCP port 7394 (nbfsd) and 111 (portmap) from the target ESX server(s) to the media server(s).

I'm guessing you have already checked this, but in case not here is a link for the minimum requirements for VMware Instant Recovery:  Requirements for Instant Recovery for VMware

Hope this helps,

Steve
