@shafei

Have you done the bptestbpcd test?
Or tried on the active cluster node to telnet to the client hostname on port 1556?
We still don't know if there is basic port connectivity issue or just certificate issue.

If you are not sure about the command, please see details in this TN:  https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100017088.html

TO TEST DEFAULT CLIENT CONNECTIONS USING BPTESTBPCD
1. From a Windows command prompt change into the <installpath>\veritas\netbackup\bin\admincmd directory, or in a UNIX console window, change into the /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd directory.
2. Type bptestbpcd /? to list the command parameters.
3. Run the command bptestbpcd -client xxxx (where xxxx is a clientname) to test connection to a client.
4. To view further details, run the command bptestbpcd -client xxxx -verbose (where xxxx is a clientname).
5. To trace through the connection process, run the command bptestbpcd -client xxxx -debug (where xxxx is a clientname).

PLEASE use -debug and -verbose options:
bptestbpcd -client xxxx -verbose -debug

@shafei

Could you give us a bit more info?

You have selected version 8. Is that 8.0? Or another 8.x.x version?
Is the same NBU version installed on the master/media server?

Is the master server clustered or the client(s)?

Are NBU services running on the client?  Client Services and Private Branch Exchange.
Is Windows Firewall disabled on the client?
Is there a firewall between master/media server and the client? If so, is port 1556 open in both directions?

Re: netbackup client error 25

Have you tried bptestbpcd from cmd on the active cluster node?

First, create bpcd log folder on the new client, then run this on active master node:

bptestbpcd -client <client-name> -debug -verbose

Please post output.

Check bpcd folder on the client to see if log file was created or written to by connection attempt.
If so, please copy the file to bpcd.txt and upload here.

Re: netbackup client error 25

@shafei

Where did you copy the bpcd file from?
We see reference to bptm processes that are started, which tells me this is a server's bpcd log, right?

What are these 2 IP addresses? Node IP and cluster IP?
logconnections: BPCD ACCEPT FROM 10.20.3.138.63950 TO 10.20.3.131.13782 fd = 1720

Please show us output from bptestbpcd command as per my previous post.
We need bpcd log from the client after you have done the bptestbpcd test.
