netbackup on vm

hello

i'm planning to install a complete lab on VM's and i need your advise

1-what version to use for netbackup

2-does installaling netbackup on vm's 6.5 version need special modification or configuration during installation

3-does installing linux redhat with oracle 11 version on vm has any limitation ?

  1. Use 7.0.1
  2. You can install your master in a VM, but it cannot do backups to tape. You can have your clients in VM without any issue. You can backup the VMDK's of the clients by configuring the vCenter/ESX host in your NetBackup configuration. See the VMware adminguide for more details http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127072 You can set the backups to be performed straight SAN, or via the LAN. The VMware backup host must be a windows system.
  3. PLease check the compatibility guides below for your specific O/S and database version.
