ntmssvc.dll

I used to get the Remote Storage Manager error until I found out that Remote Storage Manger should be disabled. I then started to get the following DCOM error:

Sys: E 'Tue Sep 28 05:02:05 2010': DCOM 10005 - " DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting to start the service ntmssvc with arguments "-Service" in order to run the server: {D61A27C6-8F53-11D0-BFA0-00A024151983}

I found that I had to go into DCOM Config to stop this error and did so. Now I'm getting this DCOM error:

Sys: E 'Wed Sep 29 05:01:22 2010': DCOM 10000 - " Unable to start a DCOM Server: {D61A27C6-8F53-11D0-BFA0-00A024151983}. The error:""C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntmssvc.dll" -Embedding is not a valid Win32 application. "Happened while starting this command:"C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntmssvc.dll" -Embedding "

What else do I need to do to stop these?

There are two registry entries that must be deleted as well (steps 12 - 16).

Thanks Marianne,

I found a similar note but, apparently, it was older than this one since it didn't include the registry entries.
