Hi folks

client server linux 7.1.0.2, master+media linux 7.1.0.2 .they can ping each other, telnet client 13782, telnet client 13724 works fine.

but telnet client 1556 fails.  port is swtiched OFF then ON several times. we cannot reboot this server due to client restriction for next 8 days.

is there a way\setting we can just use bpcd and vnetd for communication and run backup. ??????

What does the following mean?

port is swtiched OFF then ON several times

Server will always try 1556 first. If that fails, it wil try port 13724. Please remember that ports need to be open in both directions, try the same telnet tests from client to server.

Are backups failing? With which error code?

Output of bptestbpcd from master could help to check whether vnetd kicks in on PBX failure!

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bptestbpcd -client <CLIENT_NAME> -verbose -debug
