A 636 is NBJM on the master server messaging that it has detected that the socket connection with bpbrm has faltered.

BPRM on the media server is also notifying that the socket has issue.

What I find is that there is usually a firewall between media server and the master server and that the firewall's TCP keepalive paramter is less than that of the media and master server.

For example, I've written a technote in the past regards to 636 error during NDMP backups.

The solution is to adjust the TCP keepalive timeout on the master and media server so that they match or are lower than the firewall so that TCP communication is kept alive between the two servers.
