PureDisk as a separate product was discontinued some time ago (as mentioned in Alain Pelegrin's reply to your other PureDisk post).

NetBackup built-in deduplication is called MSDP.
It uses the PureDisk technology. The MSDP diskpool is therefore PureDisk type.
You need Data Protection Optimization license or NetBackup Platform Base / Capacity License.

Please read through the MSDP guide that I have referenced above.

You have raised the same topic 4 weeks ago:

https://vox.veritas.com/t5/NetBackup/Puredisk/m-p/754080

We call it MSDP - Media Server Deduplication. Requirements and HOWTO is covered in NetBackup 7.7.1 Deduplication Guide

Hi Marianne

sorry i missed that post.

so are u saying MSDP and Puredisk both are same ?

PLEASE read up requirements in MSDP guide.

Requirements are clearly listed - licensing, memory and cpu on master server, disk performance requirements, etc.

MSDP supports up to 96TB disk pool on RHEL and SUSE media servers.

If any of the requirements are not met, that would be seen as a limitation.
