For maintenance reasons NetBackup had to be stopped on one of our master servers (RHEL 6.10, NetBackup 8.2). After the netbackup stop command we saw the following process running for a couple minutes:
NB Processes
------------
root 9383 1 0 09:58 ? 00:00:00 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbhostdbcmd -update -force -daemon
Could anyone explain what this process is doing? Would it be safe to kill the process manually (we waited till it stopped by itself...)?. I cannot find any documentation about it anywhere.

nbhostdbcmd is a process that is used as part of Veritas's telemetry collection, most likely Smart Meter. I do not think terminating the process would cause any issues, as it is not a vital process.
