"Change job priority" in NBU 7.6.1.1

Hi,

I upgraded the NBU to 7.6.1.1 from 7.5.0.4. All is fine but very important option for administrators disapeared from context menu in Activity Monitor. Not exactly disapeared but is grayed out:

It is strange and very inconvenient for admins.

I found nothing about this option that is not available in this release.

Any suggestions?

Madej

Madej,

you are spot on. I just applied this EEB (listed here https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH231304)

and it has greyed out the "Change Job Priorty", so this is confirmed that EEB3747987 is the cause.

Open a case with Support and request them to raise this with Engineering.

I have that available in my 7.6.1.1 environment. Are you logging in as administrator/root ?

Are you launching the console directly from the master or from a remote PC?

If from a remote PC, did you upgrade the Java console to 7.6.1.1 too? If not you should, otherwise the console may have unintended behaviour.

Hi,

Yes, the Java console is upgraded to 7.6.1.1. I am logged as root and running console remote from PC. In NetBackup Administration Console this option is available.

I think the cause is that we had problems with performance with Java console. The case was opened and we've got the EEB for the issue. The discussion is here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/7611-java-console-working-very-slow

So this can be caused by the EEB. Maybe someone else have the same issue. Perhaps I need to open the case with support.

This has been logged. However I still recommend opening a case with support.

Thanks for help with checking this EEB.

I will open the case with support and post here how this issue would be fixed.

engineering will need to correct the EEB and that should fix the issue.

However, the issue is not seen in NetBackup 7.7
