Hi All,
In our environment we have created a new disk storage unit and want to use it for some perticular clients , thats why we enabled On Demand only " and defined that storage unit is teh schedule , in the Attributes tab "Any Available" is defined . However we found that there are other backups also going on the disk storage unit , so it looks like ON DEMAND ONLY is ignored for this disk storage unit..
Has anyone else faced this issue , if yes then please let us know the solution for the same.
Netbackup Version 6.5.3.1
Thanks,
Kshitij

Only a Policy with Storage Unit specified as that Disk Storage Unit, with that "On Demand Only" option checked, be able to backup to that Disk Storage Unit.
Thanks,

is there any policy on the same master is configured with the same storage unit.. in either of the places policy attribute or in schedules.
check the following
1)you many need to verify in all policy attributes and schedules in the master to make sure that this stu is not specified for the backup of other policys..
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bppllist -l | grep <stuname>
2)you many need to check the what are the images present in the stu..
and check for the below info.
a) what is the policy and client name of the images
----> you can directly go actally path of the stu.. and do the ls. it will list you the image ids starting with the clinet name...
check if you find any images which you dont what to be there in that STU.. and find the copy no for the images.. if that is copy no 1..that indicates..its has sure..somewhere specified in the bakups poicy
if the images copy no is other than 1 .. then that may be the image created by the duplications process.. where you may need to check the duplicaion jobs...

Good suggestion.
In addition to carefully checking all policy attributes, also check Schedules for 'stu override'.

Also make sure that this disk storage unit is not part of a Storage Unit Group that is included in any Policy or Schedule
