Hi Rino,

You can see the restore logs from the followings paths of master server.

Windows: Programfiles\veritas\Netbackup\Logs\User_ops\<userid>\logs\

unix : usr/openv/netbackup/logs/user_ops/

User ID must be the ID used for triggering the restore JOB.

Hello

Answer to your query is "Yes"

You can check the restore logs below-

For Unix : /usr/open/netbackup/logs/user_ops/username\logs

For Windows: \Programfiles\veritas\netbackup\logs\user_ops\username\logs.

hi,

i see only "root" and "dbext" as usernames and the logs, well, i thought they would say something like "restoring SQL Server db named xxxx to yyyy" to that effect.

Hello,

sounds like it is for audit purposes? Well, not all NetBackup outputs are suitable/readable for auditors. Generally you can use nbauditreport reports, but they dont contain such a level of detail.

Especially here - for restore operations of databases - I recommend to use also database side. For MS SQL: SQL Server Logs, msdb database tables,  or Event Viewer can be used for restore operations history.

hi. yeah for auditors. welp, seems 3rd party solution is the only way.

Since you are not using the Java Gui on the master server to restore SQL, you will not find any logs on the master.

DB backup and restore logs can be found on the relevant db client under user_ops and dbclient log folders.
