sharepoint backup failed with code 41

Hi, I configured to backup MS Sharepoint 2007 (with SQL 2005). The backup selection is Microsoft Sharepoint Resources:\. My NetBackup agent is 7.0.1. I found the backup job failed with exit code 41.

Is it a setting issue or permission issue or something else?

Thanks.

OP posted another thread with the same problem.

Issue was with hostname and DNS.

In that he provided the update.

NBU reporting the error just after starting the job or after backing some amount of data?

The error is reported after starting the job. No data was being backed up.

So, it may be related to network issues. Check out the name resolution for server from client and for client from server. Also checkout the hostname configuration under client properties and check whether the correct master server is selected for backingup that client or not. If changed any restart the NBU daemons and try running backup job.

Hope this helps..

It may not be network issues. Actually I also configured a backup policy to backup another directory (for file backup) in this client and the backup job completed successfully without any errors.

I did some research and found maybe due to too many files in the directory which make the client connection timed out. But I am still not sure. Is it possbile and how to troubleshoot?

If so, you can increase client read interval value under client host property and try running the job.

I had increaded client read interval value but it still does not work. The error still exists. Is it possible due to some permission issue?

Hi Sriram, the issue has been resolved with the help of Symantec support. It is related to hostname and some other settings. So Kiran is correct.

Good to know that.

You missed to update the final results in this forum thread.

That's the reason why i was confused.

Kindly make a note of this in future.
